Children derive various benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration, sense of calmness and relaxation improve. Doing yoga, children exercise and play, they embody and display self-reliance, and they are stimulated to imagine creatively as well as to experience an intimate relationship with the surrounding natural world. We find that yoga brings to the surface the marvelous inner light resident within all children.
